•    Love is not only a feeling or emotion like lust, but a person, Jesus Christ.

•    Love entails much more than just feelings.  It is commitment, suffering, discipling, joy, passion, patience, etc.

•    We learn and know love because of Jesus Christ and what He did.

•    The world’s love teaches to take what you can get.  We have been brainwashed into the world’s thinking on love.  God’s love is not man’s love.  Example of how the world’s love is working: marriage/divorce, society and relationships, etc.

•    As a result of God loving us and us loving Him, we should naturally love one another.

•    If we are following Christ, He gives us no option in terms of loving our brothers, it is a commandment, not an option.

•    If we love the brothers, the world will see and know we are His disciples.  If we don’t love the brothers, we lie about loving God.

•    Not just love in words, but in action!

•    Laying down your life for someone means laying down decisions, pride, possessions, etc.

•    How do we love?  Take on the spirit and life of Jesus Christ leaving our self-centered nature behind.

•    We must change our thinking on love, transform our mind, (Rom. 12:1)

•    “As a man thinketh, so he is.”

•    I Corinthians 13: We try to get these attributes rather than following Christ.  Yet, if we have Him, we have them all.
